I guess I should update more often, huh? Well.., I'm not doing so hot in calculus, I'm really wondering about whether engineering is right for me just because calc really bothers me. I'm gonna stick with it, get done with it, and hope it makes more sense when I use it in physics, which it hopefully will. In the meantime, I'll look into a philosophy minor/major, and just do Chinese and Japanese on my own, probably at the city college. Not worrying too much yet, first things to worry about are calc, adding EEC 001, and figuring out what I'm taking over summer.

So. Taking Shaolin Kung Fu, which is tiring. Doing all the deep stances for an hour can get your legs pretty tired, especially if you haven't done anything like that for a few years. It makes me feel better though, exercise in general is good for people I think, and I'm really inactive, so I definitely need it. I didn't bomb my ECS midterm, in fact, I did rather well, and so I'm feeling pretty good about that class. Engineering on the other hand is pissing me off, I'm not exactly sure what the teacher wants of me, and he hasn't even graded our first two programs yet, so I don't know how I did on those. If I didn't do well, I might have to go up and talk to him about it. Not just to whine, but to actually say something about how I was not able to change whatever I was doing wrong because I wasn't getting any feedback. Ideally I won't have to do that, but we'll see. Had a math midterm today, it was kinda bad, but I don't want to think about it. I'd really like an A in the class, but I dunno how likely that is. I just wanna get out of it and into 21D and the 22 series, which seem infinitely more interesting. Honors physics should also be pretty fun, if it doesn't kill me.
Also, to those who might ever try this, if you ever try to blow up a butane fuel canister, beware 'cause it'll take a while, and when it goes off, it displaces a _lot_ of air, and spits up ashes and shiet everywhere, so don't get close 'til it goes off, or the fire goes out. Just a word of friendly advice ^_^.

I've been lazy about updating lately. So..., actually interesting stuff that happened in the past few days? Well, bought myself a new hard drive, 100 gig, finally, $70 after mail-in rebate, which I still have to send out. Yeah, I know it's not really interesting, but it made me a bit happier. Went to SF with Sean and Ave on Thursday. Memorable moments involve me buying a small book of 'pocket porn' for Sean and Ave because neither of them wanted to, even though I was not paying for it at all. The main reasons it was bought? First, was for validation. Second, was out of curiousity. We saw the cover, saw it was called, "Dokodemo Sunappingu", or, "Snapping Everywhere", or something to that extent, and wondered what it was. I thought it was possibly a bunch of postcards of naked and/or good looking chicks, Sean and Ave thought it sounded plausible, and so decided to buy it for the validation, of course. (Yeah, I'm sure all that was not very coherent or grammatically correct, but whatever, it's late.) The book of pocket porno was a wise choice however, as it proved to provide us with entertainment throughout the trip. One of the best things to come out of it however, is the quote, "You have no taste. Gimme the porno." You all can guess as to who said that, I can't imagine it'd be too hard to figure out :P Anyhow, yeah, the trip was pretty fun, went to the ruins of some bathhouses, can't remember the name exactly, but it was really windy out there, and right next to the sea, and we climbed around and it was pretty entertaining. And.., yeah, nothing much else to say, it's too late, I have a midterm in ECS 040 tomorrow, and it's gonna suck bad. Good night.

Whee, this is my last quarter as a first year o_O, and I move out of the dorms after this quarter, -_-;. Me, lucky as I am, I get to move home after I move out of the dorms, and back under the jurisdiction of my somewhat tyrannical mother, yay. Hopefully it won't be that bad though, but I will have to see, I'm just not thinking about it too much, just making the most of this quarter. And hopefully I can get good grades in my classes this quarter too, I really need to bring up my gpa *_*.

So..., not much has happened. On Friday night, Chris and I went to Berkeley to chill at Li's dorm. They were having a birthday party for two guys, which was pretty fun. The vodka was nasty as hell, everyone was fucked up beyond belief, and it was all good. Smoking, whipped cream, and a hairy guy stripped down to his skivvies just for me, it was all in all pretty interesting. Then the RD broke it up around 1 or so, (RD is like the head RA kinda thing apparently). After that, I went to La Burrita with a few guys, I ordered a Carne Asada, but they confused the orders and gave me the Pollo Asada, but it was ok 'cause it still tasted good. Very good burritos. Then Chris and I had to sleep on the third floor lounge, which wasn't so bad, but I ended up waking up really early 'cause it was kinda uncomfortable. After that, we hung around the dorms for a bit, ate at the dc, which wasn't too bad, then went to Jamba Juice. From Jamba Juice, I walked on my own over to the Foothill dorms, which was pretty far, to visit Peter. On the way I saw Daisuke, which was pretty weird, but we talked for a little bit and then I moved on. Finally got to Foothill after some confusion, thankfully without getting lost, and then I met up with Peter. His suite was surprisingly clean, I was very impressed, and he was frightened that I thought it was clean. Anyway, he hadn't had lunch so we went to a different La Burrita to grab some food. Before entering the place, I was not hungry, but upon seeing their food, I felt the need to order one last burrito before I left for Davis again, so I did. And after I ate it, I was very bloated. So then Chris picked me up from that general area, and we headed back to Davis. Not before inflating a condom and letting it hang out the front passenger window though. We left it there for a while, but as I was falling asleep in the car on the freeway, it popped sadly enough. So then Chris dropped me off, and I threw away the condom, and that's about it I think. Since then I've hung out at Diana's, and tutored Julia, I have to tutor her again on Tuesday before her test. And..., that's about it. First week of the quarter is over, and it's been a looong week.

April 02, 2003

Best April Fool gag ever. So it was Paul's idea. We got some letters from Matthew Brenner, the big guy in charge of kicking people out for doing stuff, and we covered the text and copied the letterhead and tail, with the signature and stuff. Then Mark typed up a new letter, saying that they had:
1) Neglected the dormroom incredibly, had stains on the floor (true), and had a hole in the ceiling (true).
2) Had empty and full containers of alcohol (true)
3) Had drug parapharnalia and possibly drugs (not true) (actually, yeah it was)
Anyhow, we had Mark (little Mark), give him the letter, and act all pissed and shiet. So he did, and Adam got hella pissed. He went off on Drew and stuff, and was really worried, so he called the number on the letter, which was me and Tommy's dorm phone number, to schedule an appointment with Matt Brenner. Previous to this, Tommy had changed the message on the machine to say, "Hi, you've reached Matthew Brenner's office, please leave a message and I'll get back to you. (pause) (everyone yells) APRIL FOOLS!!!!" So we were waiting for him to come out and get all mad at us because we fucked with him. But no, he actually left a message for some bizarre reason and then we all went back to the room and were wondering what to do since he was really angry and looked really, really worried. So me and Paul went to grab him and told him that we had something that would cheer him up. We took him to Tommy's room and played the tape. His face was hilarious, at first he was angry, then confused, then he understood, and at about the same time we all yelled, "APRIL FOOL!!!", so yeah. It was pretty awesome.
