My math teacher speaks with a huge accent, I have homework due for that class every weak..., I'm going to cry. Oh well, hopefully my other classes won't be so bad, haven't been to Philo 001 yet, but that's taught by my Philo 021 professor, so it shouldn't be a very difficult class, interesting mostly. ECS 040 should be fun, it'll be nice to be programming again, not really sure what to think of Engineering 006, looks like it'll be boring for the most part. Between ECS and Math I went to the Bike Barn to get a new bike, but they were closed, so I'll have to go tomorrow. I'm happy my boss said I wouldn't have to finish the new two spreadsheets until Tuesday night, so I don't have to feel rushed and stressed and such. Back in school, way too soon, but it's ok I guess. It's kinda nice, except for the Math homework.

That last post was written about 10 hours ago, but was not able to be published until now. Also, apparently Eunice's birthday was yesterday, so she only wants to study for an hour today, which is fine by me. So today, I start tutoring at 12. Anyhow, time to get ready, late.
So..., have not been up to much more. Enjoyed some time at my dorm, the job stuff was bleh. Had to fill out a buncha forms, bring in my passport Monday, which I totally forgot about until right now. Anyway, yeah, my job works like so. I go and grab hardcopies from him, he e-mails me spreadsheets, and I e-mail them back corrected and such. Pretty nice, time-consuming, tedious, but easy I suppose. I finished the first set easy enough, but for the second set, I have to fill in the whole table, since there was a "converting error" or something. 19 columns, 80 rows per column, sounds like fun eh? At least he gives me Friday and Monday to finish it though. This job shouldn't be so bad.
I gave up on Chinese for this quarter, I was on the waitlist, and didn't really want to deal with getting it added and such and weird shiet like that. Gonna take it over summer at a city college and work on my basic writing skills, since I can't remember characters worth jack. Taking Philosophy 001 with Wedin instead, that should be fun. Also switched math teachers from Tall to Wang, hopefully Wang is better than Tall...
On Friday I had to go home for some time. Played pool with Ave, played some windwaker, then went to sleep early. Had to take my dad to Goodyear at 7 in the morning, not fun. Then had to pick him up two hours later, and after that, mow the lawn, poor me :(. Anyway, he took the Accord to Goodyear to get an oil change and to check out what was making weird noises. They changed the oil but couldn't find out why his car made weird noises when it was going slow. Then he remembered a recall notice for his year of Accords, something about a problem with the automatic transmissions. So he called them and they told him to bring it to the dealership.
Now.., I have to sleep very soon, because at 11, I have to tutor Eunice, then when I finish that, I go home. At 4, I have to tutor Julia, then at 6, I go back to the dorms, so it's gonna be a long day, and I already don't feel well, yay. I think I'll survive, then I'll have school -_-;. But I gotta get straight A's this quarter, so I can bring up my GPA from the severe bashing it had this last quarter, such pain...

Another long day. So at 15:00 today, (Thursday), I have to get to Surge 20 something something and start my new job, yay. Hopefully this job won't be too bad, and hopefully, I won't go blind doing it. After that, (probably before that), I'll be in the dorms. It'll be nice to sleep in a bed that's, well.., not quite mine, but that I've slept in for the past few months, although my suitemates might argue with me on how often I actually end up sleeping in that bed. Break is soon to be over, not quite yet, but soon, and I've got a few days to make up my mind about my schedule. Not sure if I really want to go through with another quarter of Chinese, if I do, it's gonna be quite painful and stressful, so I dunno. My grades this quarter weren't so hot either, just looking like a bad week in general, oh well, I'll try to enjoy the rest of it as much as I can.

And so, the war is on everyone's mind nowadays, as it really should be. It's not a good thing, war rarely/never is, and there are people I know who have loved ones or friends being shipped off to the other side of the world because our president thinks it's a good idea even though the rest of the world doesn't. In fact, I think 2 people from the dorm I live in, specifically Webster, have been shipped off because of the war, being forced to postpone their college education. On CNN last night, while I was eating at Applebee's, there was a remote interview/update thing going on from the Tarawa, which happened to be the ship my cousin served on. She's luckily currently at home in Sacramento, and I feel bad to say it, but I'm glad I don't have to worry about her being out there risking her life. *big sigh* And of course there's the asshole who lives under me who has a tally kept in his window of American, British and Iraqi KIA's, and a quote under it that says, "Mess with the best, die like the rest". I hope he trips and breaks his leg over break, or even better, for some reason has his nuts chopped off or something of the sort, asshole.

Sweet, the guy who interviewed me e-mailed me back saying he "enjoyed the interview" and I gotta go in to his office on Tuesday and fill out some forms and stuff then I can start working, yay money. On the other hand, I don't want to go on Tuesday 'cause of Asian ball at 2, (he wants me to go in at 2:30), so I'm hoping he'll let me go in Thursday or something. It's kinda weird he wants me to come in during break though, kinda mean too :(. Oh well. Yeah, I'm looking forward to Asian Ball later today, (Tuesday at 2:00), it should be fun to see people again. Maybe Erick will pay me back the 50 dollars he owes me for losing the Matrix imitation glasses I bought in Japan -_-;. Beyond that, I'd love to shove Joel and AJ's faces into the dirt, that'd be nice, but we will see what fate has in store for me. I suppose I really don't have too much of a reason to be angry at either of them anymore, seeing as how I don't have to see them, but they still bother me, not sure why.
Saw Li tonight, (Monday night). Chris and I went over to visit him since he was back, ate some appetizers at Applebee's, and watched Unbreakable. Was gonna watch Wasabi, but he could only get the DVD to play on his X-Box and on the box it'd only play with Mandarin dialogue and our choice of subtitles, which just felt wrong. I guess I'll just rent it sometime and watch it with whoever else wants to watch it with me.
Thoughts of the day:
- Just because someone is different than me in a way I think is bad, does not mean they're bad people. I should be more understanding in most cases where I feel the need to criticize people.
- I should also stop taking everything said against me so personally, even if the comment is rather offensive and unnecessary, I suppose not everyone really realizes the impact of what they say a lot of the time, and I think the reason things offend me so much sometimes is because I find it offensive, when I shouldn't, or something.
- And dude, freaking what's going on right now _so_ parallels Star Wars, I hella called that shiet.

Watched "Attack of the Gas Station" last night, some Korean movie about these four guys who rob this gas station, then rob it again the next week. It's pretty funny, made me laugh the whole way through, definitely a movie worth seeing. Besides watching the movie, I hung out with Diana, Peter, Megan, Ave, and some of Oliver's friends, specifically Matt and Mike. Played settlers. Didn't do too much else, looking forward to this week. Slept in my dorm last night, woke up and there were firemen outside, one of 'em said, "I think there was a POC in that bathroom". I don't know what POC stands for, and I doubt it stands for anything even similar to POS, but I'm gonna look it up and see. I ate some chicken nuggets today and they made me feel sick, maybe that's a good thing, hrmm... Either way, won't be pigging out on chicken nuggets again anytime soon, they're really quite full of grease. And..., beyond that, nothing much else going on. Yes, I realize this one's a rather incoherent one, but I'm kinda drained from finals week, so please, cut me some slack.

Went to a protesting the war rally the other day on campus. It was a march to Border's and stuff, it was pretty interesting, fun, saw a lot of high school people. It was weird though, 'cause a lot of the people brought up points on how Bush was using 9/11 as an excuse to pursue his own vendetta and get at Iraq's oil, and yet a lot of the speakers used the rally as an excuse to beat down on capitalism and promote socialism. Not that I don't like socialism and all that, but it just seems almost hypocritical, the rally was about the war, and the pre-emptive bombing of Iraq, not about capitalism.
In other news, I finally downloaded this movie called "Hero", or "Ying Xiong". Chinese movie from 2002, s'posed to be really friggin' good, same genre as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, (that whole "wu xia" thing), except it's supposed to be a lot better. Anyhow, I got it, and it's in Chinese, and for some reason my computer hates me and I can't find the right codec to play it. Then again, even if I could play it, I think I'd have some problems understanding the Chinese, why do I suck? :(
On a related note, I think I totally fucked up my Chinese final today, argh. That class makes me sad, seeing as how I really am not good at the reading and writing. Just gotta work on it more, make flash cards and all that. Ok, done with whining.
So, back to Hero, it's supposed to be released in America in the near future, which is cool. On the other hand, it's being brought over by Miramax, and.., Miramax, likes to screw things up. They're cutting the length down by quite a bit from what I've read, and that's rarely ever a good thing. And supposedly, "Knocking on Heaven's Door" comes out in America soon too, I'm looking forward to that. Chances are it'll be dubbed, but oh well, it's cool to see anime on the big screen. And lastly, I saw Rurouni Kenshin on Cartoon Network the other day. Which is nice, but it was dubbed, which was painful. The original voice actors were all pretty good, especially Sanosuke, and hearing the American voice actor speak was just kinda painful. Such is the media.

Just had the interview, I think it went well. I was right, the guy was Korean, he asked if I was too, I said my mum was raised in Korea and I've been there a few times and enjoyed it. Yes, it is kinda sucking up, but I really do kinda need money. He interviewed me, asked me about my major, core classes, my interest in my major, things like that. I think it went ok, not sure really why any of that needs to be known for a job like the one I'm going for. Then I had to do the test thingy, finished in 10 min or so, weren't any numerical mistakes I found, but sometime the computer would put in a colon or semi-colon instead of a decimal, and sometimes would put in commas in random places. It was definitely tedious, but not too bad, I wouldn't be too averse to doing it. I think.
My first final is in an hour and thirty minutes, I'm moderately worried, but not too much so. I studied some the other day, and I understand the concepts that I didn't before, so I think I'll do decently well, hopefully at least a B, not a B-. I'm really worried about tomorrow's final and the final after that though..., Chinese then Math, school is not fun. I'll study later today, or tomorrow though, and hopefully I do really well on Chinese, urgh.

Congratulations! You're Merry!
Which Lord of the Rings character and personality problem are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
Oh yeah, I have a job interview Thursday, before my final. I gotta go in and compare an excel spreadsheet of a sheet that was scanned with optical character recognition stuff, make sure they're the same, correct any discrepancies, etc. Shouldn't take long, will go and then come back and study, yay. Hopefully I get this job, not sure why I really want it, but it seems not too bad a job, cushy.
So earlier today, (Sunday), I was supposed to tutor Eunice at 11. I thought it was at 12. So.., I get a call at 11:40 from her mother saying how she just got back from church, and was wondering what was going on 'cause her husband was to pick me up and he wasn't home yet. -_-; Oh well, she wasn't angry, I felt bad, but on the drive to the house, she was talking about what a great sermon it was and stuff and saying how I should go, so that was kinda interesting. The tutoring itself went well, Eunice was as she usually was, got a little spazzy towards the end, but that's normal.
Afterwards I went home, installed the WC3 beta for my bro. Ate some potstickers, then went to my other student's house at 4. Tutored her for a while, it went ok, probability is kinda boring though. But I was glad I only had to tutor for an hour, too many hours in a day of tutoring can drive one mad I think, that and it can get boring. The reason I had to tutor Julia on Sunday was that she was sick on Saturday, called me like an hour before they were to pick me up and told me she wasn't feeling well, oh well. I also forgot to pick up pay, but I'll pick that up next time I go, it's not that big a deal.
So then, not too much else happened, some stuff, but not that I really want to type much more about.
Out.

Whee, everyone got drunk tonight. Well, not drunk, but nearly everyone drank. It was nice, in a communal getting together and having fun kinda way. Mark threw up once I think, but that's pretty normal, so all in all it was a good night I think. Also got a pizza from Woodstock's, that was very nice. I seem to have this tendency to get what some call, the "alcohol munchies". Happened a few weeks ago too, I was bumming food from everyone, eventually stole my roommate's burritos from the freezer, I felt bad, but I paid him back in popsicles, so it ended up being ok, I think. Anyhow, now I have to tutor in about.., 8 hours, or 10 hours, or 11, I'm not actually sure. Which is a bad thing, but that's ok, 'cause they'll call me, and I'll try and be awake by 11, and hopefully not have a headache or anything like that. We will see.
March 10, 2003
And I just get news I wasn't hired for the job, . I suppose that was to be expected though, oh well. Time to look elsewhere for a job, damn.
Haven't posted in a while... Not too much to say though, the interview went well, I found the place with time to spare, (not much though). Made it to my Chinese class only 5 minutes late, and it didn't matter anyway, 'cause the class was all sitting outside with the teacher and he was telling us a story of how his trip to Hong Kong went. It was all good. I ended up getting a high B on my Math midterm, thankfully. I might not fail the class now!
Not much else really happened, tutored on Saturday for a bit, wasn't particularly interesting. They're going over probability right now, 10 choose 3 and the like, it's pretty boring. Oh well.
Also played Monopoly, the game went ok, 'cept Oliver got pissed after quite a few bad rolls and quit, then Diana decided to quit too, and shortly after that, Joanna decided to quit 'cause Oliver was mad at her for not quitting or something to that extent. So yeah, the game just ended after that since she had a shitload of properties and it was kinda not worth playing. Yeah.
Then on Sunday I went home for a bit, my mum made me food, that was good, looked through my Chinese homework and stuff, not so fun. And..., that was about it. Now I have to do lots of HW before class starts in 2 hours and 27 minutes. Actually, before the bus gets here in 2 hours and 18 minutes.

March 07, 2003
Yay job interview. Tomorrow (Friday), at 4, which happened to be their only open time slot, which also happens to be the same time my Chinese class starts, yay. Oh well, I think I can pass the class, it's rather worrisome. I wish I were better at reading and writing, but it's pretty difficult, but I think if I do well on the final, (fingers crossed, knocks on wood), I can still manage a C or B, I hope. But yeah, job interview. If I get the job, it mostly involves entering information into a database. On some occasions, I get to drive the company car or golf cart for whatever reason, such as delivery of objects, or something. Either way, it'd be nice to get that job, would not be too difficult, and it'd be kinda fun. For now, finals are on my mind, and I'm rather worried.
March 06, 2003
Yay, I have to tutor in like.., 5 minutes, actually, negative 5 minutes. They're late. Oh well. I think I bombed my math quiz, but that's ok. I did well on my Chem midterm, 2 points away from a B, and I think I got at least a B- on my Math test. Hopefully someone will drop CHN 003BL before next quarter starts, so I can take that, if not, I dunno what I'm gonna do. I will have to see I guess. I just want this week to be over, although that'll mean that finals will be closer than ever, argh.
March 02, 2003
Wheeeeeeee! Busy few days. Midterms went well, not as bad as I thought, I feel semi-confident I did decent on both of them. I didn't struggle very much on either one of them, but I don't really want to think about that. Got back from midterms and my mum called to let me know some mother wanted me to tutor their kid. I called them up and talked with them for a bit, and ended up tutoring for 15 an hour on Saturday. I stayed for a li'l over 2 hours, and the mother paid me 40 and said that we'd figure out the difference next week or something like that. The kid I'm tutoring is a 10th grade girl, kinda interesting. Very "Davis" I think, slightly overconfident in her schoolwork, thinks she's pretty intelligent (which she may well be), and says the word "like" every sentence pretty much. Even with that, she's not too hard to tutor, very self-motivated, I just have to make sure she doesn't make small mistakes, and her mother made me lunch 'cause I woke up late and skipped breakfast for tutoring. Nice people ^_^. Then as I was getting ready to vegitate for a while, Misheru ims me saying she's back in town, bizarre O_o. Anyhow, ended up going to her place and watching "The Truman Show" and then "Van Wilder", both of which I suggested, go me! Both were good movies, Van Wilder was hilarious, the part with the eclair type things was hilarious, almost made me throw up, I did indeed gag a few times. And in general, the movie was just funny, not to be taken too seriously. With that said, I have to tutor again tomorrow, but I like this student in a very Platonic way, so it won't be so bad. Although..., hopefully she won't spaz on me this time *_*.
